Improved process control means reduced waste, downtime, and off-spec products. Real-time data and accurate production reports mean decisions can be made to optimize manufacturing for decreased cost and greater productivity. These systems typically involve PLC-based technology, Windows-based operator interfaces, integration with other management systems, MIS inventory systems, and storage of processing data in a relational database for flexible reporting.

Material Handling/Robotics

In today’s industry, robotic applications are at the forefront of modern production lines. This allows manufacturers to reallocate or train personnel to other areas within the facilities. This is key for several reasons: it keeps personnel from performing repetitive tasks that cause workforce fatigue or injuries and reduces the dependence on manual human labor in these times of personnel shortage. This allows the customer a higher ROI and increased production, efficiency, and better quality. Here at Salem, we work with our customers to develop a solution that meets their needs and is implemented in the required time frame and budget.

Batch Processing

Our engineers have extensive experience controlling batch process systems and designing and implementing reliable applications for controlling mixing systems with easy-to-use interfaces for recipe assignment. These systems can be designed in customer-preferred software, or Salem can determine the optimal platform. Detailed batch reporting is deposited in a database, with user access controlled via a browser interface. The web-based front end allows Salem to provide the end user flexibility with retrieving the lot numbers, time and date, and other batch information.
